For all I can remember, this was my first ever football game. My uncle Craig got some tickets to the last game of the season in Lincoln against the Husker's hated rivals the Oklahoma Sooners. While I was only 12 at the time and knew very little about the game or the rivalry, it was the day that my love for stadiums and college football began.
The Huskers won this grudge-match leading to an Orange Bowl birth. The whole 4th quarter was filled with well-prepared fans throwing oranges onto the field to mock the losing Sooners.
